He
shall supervise the keeping and auditing of accounts of the various departments. All accounts of the receipts and payments of the construction and of the operation of the Railway shall be kept by the said Chief Accountant in Chinese and English and detailed re- ports thereon shall be prepared and forwarded to the Managing Di- rector for submission to Peking for approval of the Director General of Chinese Imperial Railways and for the information of The British & Chinese Corporation Ltd. The correctness of all receipts and payments shall be certified by the said Chief AÇ- countant and the Managing Director shall authorise the Chief ashier's Department to receive and/or pay accordingly. He
11 also, from time to time, obey the orders which may be is- ed by the Head Office of the Railway in performing his duties without disobedience.
4. The Traffic Manager shall be appointed by the Director- a General of Chinese Imperial Railways. He shall attend to all affairs in connection with the traffic and telegraph of the Rail- way subject to the orders and directions of the Managing Director. All accounts and bills of the Traffic Department shall be kept in Chinese and English and shall, from time to time, be reported to the Managing Director by whom they will be forwarded to the Chief "Accountant's Department for auditing and accounting.
